From 9 November 2026, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will start using electronic eATA Carnets, joining the growing number of countries that accept Carnets in digital form. Since June 2026, the EU countries, Switzerland and the United Kingdom have used eATA only.
If you regularly take exhibition goods on temporary export to the UAE, now is a good time to get familiar with the new digital process. All shipments arriving via airfreight or seafreight must include a printed QR code as a backup, as the customs office may be located in an area that is not accessible to the public.
You can read more about eATA on our website.
The Chambers of Commerce issuing ATA Carnets and the Finland Chamber of Commerce are also happy to advise on using eATA. The Finland Chamber of Commerce is organizing an eATA info session in English on November 11th, please register here.
